Foods that can trigger inflammation may make your pain worse so these are ones to avoid if you can. This includes processed foods (ready meals, sliced meat), caffeine, fizzy juice, sugars (cakes, biscuits etc.), and alcohol.
As an alternative, you could incorporate foods that can help fight inflammation into your diet to see if these help your symptoms. This includes blueberries, chia seeds, ginger, spinach, turmeric, walnuts and more.
I would also recommend that you drink plenty of water, as this can be good for inflammation by helping to flush out toxins from the body. Keep the area raised and rested as much as possible, and apply an ice pack every so often if need be.
