This could be down to a few things, including dehydration. This will show itself after exercise because, of course, we lose lots of fluids at this time.
It's also worth considering what you are eating before a workout. Lots of caffeine can contribute to muscle twitches, as can nutrients deficiencies, such as low levels of magnesium. We lose this, and other vital electrolytes, during exercise which can cause twitches to develop.
I suggest eating something like a banana or a smoothie a short time before you exercise to make sure your body is fully fuelled up. Balance Mineral Drink can also be a help. It contains magnesium, as well as zinc, calcium, vitamin D, and potassium. Not only does this support the muscles, but it is also very good for our energy levels – just what we need before or after exercising!
If the problem persists despite making changes in these areas, do speak to your doctor for more advice.
