Diet can, undoubtedly, affect the severity of back pain.
Including quite a lot of inflammatory foods in the diet, such as processed ready meals, alcohol and sugars, can make pain more pronounced. On the other hand, there are quite a few nutrients that can be beneficial for the likes of pain and stiffness. Those with a decent magnesium, or omega-3 content, for example, can ease inflammatory processes and may even help with pain. So, as the likes of oily fish, leafy green vegetables and nuts and seeds all contain these nutrients, they can be very useful when suffering from back pain.
Another thing that can really influence back pain is our water intake. Dehydration can make pain more pronounced, particularly if it is lower back pain that a person tends to suffer from.
We have lots of blog pages on back pain which you may find helpful. I will put some relevant links below so that you can take a look in your own time but do let me know if you have any other questions.
