A doctor would expect someone with fibromyalgia to complain of pain in at least 11 of the 18 locations simultaneously, rather than at disparate times.
Your X-Ray would have been looking for signs of arthritis but it may be worth asking for a 'gait analysis', which any physio can asses should the doctor not be willing.
It will show up any rolling of the ankles which can cause knee pain.
Running shops are a good alternative. For around £30 (or often free if you buy a pair of trainers from them), they perform high-speed video assessment of your walking/running gait and you can see for yourself if it is responsible for the knee pain.
My wife's knee pain is 90% better as a result of doing this.
If the pain is persistent, do consider using some Atrogel® twice a day and taking some Atrosan® tablets additionally. The tablets take a few weeks to work but do help to reduce inflammation, which in itself is destructive to tissue if persistent.
Best wishes
