Some people understandably comfort eat when in pain, others have no appetite because of it. The inactivity caused by fibromyalgia might cause weight gain, although some exercise is a good pain management tool and fibromyalgia patients with a stubborn streak will keep moving.
Depression often results from pain and increases sugar cravings, so it's a complicated picture which can only be answered on an individual basis.
