Introduction

Sprouts are a great way to add extra nutrients and taste to your kids' sandwiches. Alfalfa sprouts are very popular with young children as the flavour is very light and fresh and can be added to any sandwich. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Egg Mayo Sandwich

An egg mayo sandwich is an old favourite for kids and adults alike. Cress is often added to egg mayo, but for a change why not try topping it with alfalfa sprouts.

Tuna Mayo Sandwich

Enjoy this simple family favourite in a sandwich with light mayo, chives to taste and a handful of little radish sprouts.

Cheese and Ham Pita

Another firm favourite with kids of all ages. Why not update the classic sandwich by swapping our bread for crisp pitas and add a handful of alfalfa sprouts.

Turkey Wraps

Add alfalfa sprouts to a traditional turkey wrap for a more nutritious lunchbox staple. And why not leave out the mayo and hold the sandwich together with a healthier alternative–pesto!

Turkey and Cream Cheese Pita Pockets

Spread a creamy cheese, inside a whole wheat pita, then fill with roast turkey slices, baby spinach leaves, cucumber slices and alfalfa sprouts..

Tip: Get your kids to sprout their own seeds

Why not get your kids to sprout their own seeds prior to eating them. Sprouting is fun and kids love you see things grow. Plus they may be more eager to eat their sprouts it they have been the ones to grow them – a great way to get them to eat their ‘greens’.

Our BioSnacky Starter Kit is the ideal way to kick start your kids love of sprouting.
