Hello,
It’s not unusual that during the menopause, you notice a few changes occur with your skin. Low levels of oestrogen can impact your production of collagen, a structural protein that your skin needs to stay plump and youthful looking. Unfortunately, after menopause you may find your skin has changed so it’s important to take steps to support it.
Over at A.Vogel Talks Ageing Skin, I talk quite a bit about the diet and lifestyle habits that can impact your skin and what you can do to help support your skin, reducing the effects of free-radical damage, a major cause of premature ageing. I’d recommend having a look here, particularly at my blog ‘6 habits that are prematurely ageing your skin.’
It’s also possible that the products you’re currently using could be upsetting your skin, which is I why I’d also advise switching to more natural skincare and make-up products. Our friends at Jan de Vries have an excellent selection and here at A.Vogel, we also offer a comforting moisturiser in the form of our Comfrey Cream. You can read more about the benefits of comfrey here but it’s intensely moisturising and can work to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
I hope this information helps,
Best wishes,
Felicity
