Fine lines and wrinkles are a natural part of the ageing process and when there are ways of minimising their appearance, I find that the best you can do for wrinkles is support the health of your skin overall. Sometimes certain diet and lifestyle factors can make you more vulnerable to free-radical damage which causes premature ageing.
In order to counter these nasty free-radical molecules it’s important you look to your diet to help you get the supply of antioxidants you need. Foods such as sugar and processed fats can contribute to inflammation so I’d try to avoid these if possible. Fresh fruit and veg, lean protein and healthy fats are what you should be focusing on! Make sure you’re drinking plenty of fluids too as dehydration will definitely age your appearance.
Getting the blood pumping is also another way to support your skin as it increases your circulation, making sure these essential nutrients and oxygenated blood get to your skin. You could also try looking at the cosmetics you are using – often high street skincare products and make-up are loaded with harmful chemicals that can be quite abrasive if your skin is sensitive.
It’s also incredibly important that you adapt a good skin hygiene routine and keep your skin safe from the sun – UV radiation is one of the biggest causes of premature ageing so invest in a good, natural suncream to help protect your skin throughout the day.
I hope this advice helps, please let me know if you have any other questions,

Felicity
