After coming off the pill it can take up to 3-6 months in some cases for your period to become regular again.
Your body has to adjust to not having a dose of synthetic hormones each month and instead having to regulate its own cycle of hormones once more, in order to give you your monthly period.
In some cases though, it is possible that being on the pill over time can mask underlying problems with your period. Factors such as stress, body weight or vigorous exercise regimes can all cause issues with your period, so if you period hasn’t returned after 6 months of coming off the pill, it might be worth going to your doctor for further advice on this.
Kind regards,
Emma
