Irregular periods can happen for a number of reasons, this could be the result of a hormone imbalance, stress, your body weight and body fat percentage changing, your age (for example in women approaching the perimenopause, irregular periods are common), different medications or they could be the result of an underlying condition affecting the womb such as PCOS, or some other type of condition, such as a thyroid disorder for example.
So, it is possible that simple lifestyle changes can be having an influence, or there could in some cases be some other underlying cause.
I would recommend you track your period (and any symptoms) carefully, for at least the next 3 months so we can determine if any patterns emerge. Then, if your symptoms persist, you might want to get back in touch with some additional information, or get this checked out by your doctor.
Kind regards,
Emma
