Unfortunately water retention and bloating is a common symptom for women around the time their period is due. The hormonal changes around this time can contribute to this problem and affect the amount of fluid present in your tissues.
Some tips from me include keeping properly hydrated. Although it seems counterintuitive to drink plenty of water when you are suffering from fluid retention, it is actually really important to keep hydrated. If you do not drink enough, your body may store even more. It is important to keep hydrated all through the month, and not just when your symptoms become apparent.
Agnus castus may in some cases be helpful, especially if other symptoms of PMS are at play.
Best wishes,
Emma
