Anxiety and perimenopause
Anxiety that is triggered by changing hormones tends to go away when stability has been restored and the body has gotten used to lower hormone levels. It's a natural process of winding down. But like any transition, such as divorce or house moves, the bit in the middle can be tough.
The increase in anxiety for women who have never experienced it before menopause can be linked very much to vasomotor symptoms like jitters, sweatiness, hot flushes, and night sweats brought on by lower oestrogen levels. These are usually temporary and they should level off when you've settled into menopause properly.
What can you do to help yourself?
In the meantime, it's about supporting the nervous system. If coffee or wine is triggering your anxiety, then try and avoid them because they're just going to make you feel rattled. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and get plenty of rest.
To relieve hot flushes and night sweats you could try our Menoforce Sage tablets. Or you could also try our Balance Perimenopause Multi-nutrient drink. It's got potassium and magnesium, and that will help support the nervous system.
