Question: Does perimenopause make you smell different?

Answer: It can, but remember that your body odour comes not from us, it's the byproduct of bacteria. Our skin, the vagina, everywhere is populated by billions of friendly bacteria. In perimenopause we can sweat a little bit more, the skin and vagina can get a bit drier, and the pH moisture content of the skin changes, and it affects and alters our natural population of microorganisms.

It's also likely your sense of smell can become more acute because your nervous system is affected by changing hormones. Don't worry, any natural change in smell during perimenopause is probably not noticeable to others. Just drink plenty of plain water to cleanse from within and replace lost fluids.

Avoid sweaty polyester clothing and wear nice natural breathable fabrics like cotton.

Menoforce Sage tablets might help if you're starting to get hot flushes and are feeling a little bit sweaty.
