Are cramping and period pains common once your periods have stopped? Yes, this is very common, especially at the beginning of the menopause.
All that's happening is your hormones are falling enough to stop monthly periods, but there's still a sort of hormonal cycle every month and that's causing the usual PMS symptoms such as cramping, bloating and general discomfort.
So, for this one, a magnesium supplement can be really great.
Remember the water because dehydration will make this worse. And constipation can also be a factor. So, if you're getting that too, remember to sort that one out.
