Memory lapses are common in the menopause and was one of the menopause symptoms I struggled with.
Panic will almost always make symptoms worse and take longer for you to get back on track. I know it's not easy, but when you forget, the best thing to do is to relax, breathe deeply and slowly.
I just used to laugh and tell people I was having a 'black hole moment' and services would resume soon and usually by the time I had finished saying this, I was in control again.
Some women find either Concentration Essence or Ginkgo biloba helps as well.
For more tips on how to improve your memory at this time, please have a look at my article 'Is it normal to be forgetful during menopause?'.
If you feel that you are really struggling with this then do chat to your doctor about it as well.
