Hormonal changes during the menopause stress our body tremendously and our nutritional needs go up considerably. Your body needs good food in order to support itself during this challenging time.
If you eat a poor diet or skip meals this would be like expecting your car to work on empty! So it really is important to eat well and little and often.
If you have busy days you must have a good breakfast, if you can't face solid food you could try a protein drink, you can get good quality ones from your healthshop.
Make sure that you are eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and nuts and seeds are great for mood!
Plain water is really important too as dehydration can cause low mood and snappiness.
I would also suggest a good female multi-vitamin supplement with extra magnesium, your local healthshop should be able to recommend a suitable one for you.
Acupuncture can also be really good for this stage so it is worth looking into.
