I am in a new relationship but having sex is a problem for me as my vagina seems to be too small. I have never had this problem before but it is very painful and embarrassing, as well as frustrating. I am using a gel but it doesn't seem to help. Is this normal? My last sexual relationship was 17 months ago and everything was OK then. I was on a small dose of HRT for 4 years but I finished it 12 months ago and I have been totally period free for 14 months now. What can I do as I am afraid to try again?
This is probably due to falling oestrogen levels, which cause dryness in the membranes of the vagina as well as other areas of the body.
You may find that taking fermented soya isoflavones helps, as they are good for plumping up the membranes. They take around 4-6 weeks to take effect
