background

I've gone over 2 years without having a period. My womb was cleaned out due to having very heavy periods whilst I was going through the menopause. I have been symptom free for over a year now but suddenly my symptoms, like night-sweats and hot flushes, are back with a vengeance. I exercise 3 times a week and I eat fairly healthy. I am 52 years old and I started the change at 45. What advice can you give me?

You won’t get the menopause the minute you turn 50! The average starting age is actually between 45 and 55 and it can often depend on a number of factors including hereditary, weight and health, however every single woman will have an individual menopause.
