You are not usually considered safe from pregnancy until you have not had a period for 2 years, however, the older you are, the less likelihood of conception occurring.
Missing periods are usually one of the first sign of approaching the menopause and nausea is quite common as well.
The best thing to do is see your doctor and they can test for you either way.
