Loss of libido is very common in the menopause, there can be several things contributing to this. Falling oestrogen is one of the main culprits but the hormonal changes that go on in the menopause put a tremendous strain on the body generally, so energy levels often fall. Low oestrogen levels can affect our mood too, so adding all these together it is no surprise that the libido can disappear!
You may find the herb Maca good for this as it is traditionally used for libido, energy and mood. You could also add in Menopause Support. This is a soya isoflavone supplement which is used to help gently raise and balance oestrogen levels. You could use both together if you wished.
Acupuncture can also be really good for this, so is worth looking into as well.
