It is really both, there are other chemical compounds in coffee that can cause problems as well as the caffeine, if you feel that you do need a coffee try to get organic. Coffee and chocolate are probably the most chemically sprayed crops on the planet and some of these chemicals will end up in the finished product so the less chemical overload you get the better.
