If you are reducing your carbohydrate intake it is very important to really increase your fruit and vegetable consumption to keep your fibre intake high and avoid constipation.
Remember to drink plenty of plain water every day (tea, coffee, fruit juices, fizzy drinks don't count!)
Have a read up of the Low GL Diet or the Paleo Diet as these both explain how to have a healthy diet with low carbs.
It is difficult to keep up with high levels of fruit and vegetables but if you plan your diet well it can be done. I try to have vegetables with every meal: breakfast today was an omelette with mushrooms, red onion, tomatoes and feta cheese; lunch will be home made vegetable soup (made with at least 8 different vegetables) and some form of protein; and dinner tonight will be mixed beansprout salad with spinach, guacamole and salmon!
Nuts and seeds are another good source of fibre so a small handful for midmorning or mid afternoon snack is a good idea.
I hope this helps.
