background

I have been having hot flushes and night-sweats for over 15 years. I have tried every herbal remedy but to no avail. I've had HRT for 5 years and the symptoms stopped but 8 years ago the doctor advised me to come off it. Since then the flushes and sweats have returned with a vegeance. I wake up several times a night, very damp, and I have at least 10 hot flushes a day. Can you suggest anything? I will be turning 60 in September. I exercise every day, walking my dogs at least 3 times a day. I am not overweight, neither do I smoke or drink coffee. I need help.

You won’t get the menopause the minute you turn 50! The average starting age is actually between 45 and 55 and it can often depend on a number of factors including hereditary, weight and health, however every single woman will have an individual menopause.
