I missed my first period in February and then thought I had missed March, until Thursday evening last week. I am having extremely bad stomach pains and heavy rushes of blood. I also feel very uncomfortable going out in caase I flood through my clothes. Also, the pain makes me double over and I have to sit down. This has never happened before, I hope you can help. I am 52 years old. I have to be cautious taking pain killers as I have IBS and Diverticular disease and pain killers cause my stomach problems to flare up.
This is quite common on the approach to the menopause but if you are losing a lot of blood and in pain it is important to see your doctor, frequent/heavy periods can cause anaemia which in turn can cause low mood, poor sleep and fatigue.
