Fatigue is very common in the menopause as falling hormone levels can stress our bodies tremendously and, if we have a busy life with little rest or relaxation, it can take its toll.
Headaches are also common and can often be caused by low blood sugar levels (4pm is often when this dips), so you may find having a good protein snack about 3pm helps- sugary snacks/biscuits can make this worse so do avoid.
Dehydration can also be a factor so make sure you are drinking plenty of plain water. You may find taking a magnesium supplement helps as well.
It is important to look after yourself well at this time and make sure that you have a good diet, relaxation, and sensible exercise.
However; low iron, low thyroid, and low vitamin D can also appear at this time and all can cause similar symptoms so it is a good idea to ask your doctor to test for these just to rule them out.
