Weight gain is a common symptom but not all women experience this.
Weight gain may be triggered by the menopause causing problems metabolising carbs or it may be lifestyle changes.
Many women in the menopause find that fatigue may influence how much exercise they do and also what they eat so that may be another cause.
Cutting down on carbs and increasing protein and vegetables can help some women: check out the low GL Diet or the Paleo Diet. Try to make sure that you are active all the time, even a 10 min brisk walk a day can have positive results long-term.
