3 Herbs I Recommend for Menopause
Three of the herbs I recommend most often for women in perimenopause and menopause are Sage, Passionflower and Yarrow.
Sage
Sage is a wonderful herb for balancing our inner thermostat so it can help regulate your temperature and reduce hot flushes and night sweats! It was also known as the longevity herb amongst the Ancient Greeks and modern science now confirms it is great for memory and for balancing brain waves in a way that calms the mind and eases brain fog. Passionflower
Passionflower is another great one for the mental and emotional symptoms that often arise in menopause, things like anxiety, overwhelm, brain fog and irritable moods. Passionflower is calming for our nervous system and helps to improve both mood and focus, as well as helping to improve sleep.
Yarrow
Lastly, loads of digestive complaints often pop up in menopause and Yarrow is a wonderful herb that is both bitter and carminative. The bitter action helps to support the liver and increases our digestive juices and helps us digest better, while the carminative action aids the later stages of digestion and helps to reduce gas and bloating.
