The best remedy to treat a cold or flu virus is Echinacea. This is traditionally used to help strengthen the immune system and aid recovery from a cold. Echinacea comes in tincture and tablet form, plus we also have a Hot Drink version containing Echinacea and Elderberry. We usually recommend this during the height of the infection as it is very soothing for symptoms, whilst also giving your immune system a boost.
A high intake of can be of benefit to boost immune function. Oranges, strawberries, broccoli are all high in vitamin C, or you could try a natural supplement.
You could try Balance mineral drink to help fatigue and muscle weakness after the cold or flu symptoms have subsided a little. It contains a little magnesium that can help boost energy.
In addition, you could also add garlic into your diet. Warm foods, soups, fruit and veg and drinks such as honey and lemon can also help you on the road to recovery.
