Hi there, it is not uncommon for hayfever symptoms to develop in adulthood so I wouldn't be too surprised if this is the cause of your symptoms. We can usually distinguish between hayfever and cold/flu symptoms by how long it lasts. So, if your symptoms persist over the next few weeks, hayfever is most likely the cause. Other symptoms that are unique to hayfever include itchy skin and irritated eyes. These kinds of things we are unlikely to experience with a cold or flu.
Pollen levels have been on the increase lately so it is possible your daily exercise is bringing on symptoms. However, it is now more important than ever that we get out in the fresh air and get our bodies moving wherever possible so please don't stop exercising!
You could try a nasal spray to soothe the nasal passages or try steam inhalation when you get home.
This is really simple – just fill up a basin or bowl with warm, steaming water then place your head over it and breathe in deeply for a few minutes. Just be sure you don't get too close to the water that you end up burning yourself!
