What’s the pollen forecast this week?
Here in the UK it’s not often that we get the opportunity to bask in the warmth of the sun so for many the recent hot spell has been bliss. Calls of ‘where’s the deck chair?’ and ‘Pimms anyone?’ can be heard over many a garden fence.
The situation is less, well, bright, for hayfever sufferers though with the settled, humid weather contributing to very high levels of pollen. Cue sniffles, sneezing and endless watery eyes!
For this lot the situation isn’t set to improve much either as very high pollen counts are predicted until Sunday. A few wet showers should help to clear the air a little but unfortunately these aren’t due in London till Sunday.
Simple tips to see you through hayfever season
Instead of hiding in the safety of your pollen-free bedroom during this warm spell, just follow our simple tips to getting through the hayfever season comfortably.
- Dust your home regularly with a damp cloth
- Keep your hayfever treatments on hand when you go out
- Dig out your sunglasses – this has three positives. It’ll stop pollen from reaching your eyes, it’ll give your eyes protection from the sun and it’ll give you a stylish look as you saunter into the office. Win-win!
- Say goodbye to your runny nose and itchy skin with our Pollinosan Hayfever Tablets! These address a whole range of symptoms and can be used alongside other hayfever medications too
- Change your clothes when you return home and, better still, take a shower to wash the pollen out of your hair. You don’t want to inadvertently spread it through your house!
- Keep the windows in your home shut throughout the day however, if you need to circulate a little fresh air then it’s best to open them early in the morning
- Avoid large grassy spots in the area such as Greenwich Park, Hyde Park and Regent’s Park. If you feel left out by the fact that everyone else can flock there then invite your friends over to your house before they can make plans to BBQ on the pollen-filled grass!
