Check nowA healthy diet can influence our health in a while range of ways, particularly when it comes to an enlarged prostate.
There are several foods and drinks that can have a positive effect on symptoms, so you could aim to get more of these in your diet. Some key ones to focus on include:
• Pumpkin seeds – research shows that zinc has a really positive effect on symptoms
• Fruit and vegetables – vitamin C, in particular, is a powerful antioxidant so might calm symptoms. This is abundant in peppers, citrus fruit, broccoli and strawberries
• Eggs – these contain vitamin D which is also good for the prostate.
I'd also recommend cooking with fresh produce as much as possible, with a focus on ingredients like beans, pulses, wholegrains and fresh meat or fish. Processed foods offer less nutritionally and may actually make enlarged prostate symptoms worse. This is something I have discussed extensively in my blog 'Good foods for you enlarged prostate'.
