Having a knee operation will not directly affect the prostate gland. However, knee surgery will reduce your husband’s mobility and what might have happened is that being less mobile might have exacerbated his symptoms or alternatively, make his symptoms more obvious.
We know for instance, that being upright (ie. Standing or walking) can help obstructive symptoms of an enlarged prostate such as poor flow or dribbling.
If your husband has not seen a doctor about his prostate, he should in the first instance get a diagnosis. Once this is confirmed, his doctor will be able to recommend the appropriate treatment and for mild to moderate forms of enlargement, saw palmetto may be of help.
