We know that how we eat can have just as big an impact as what we eat! My advice would be as follows:
- Try and sit down and sit up straight before digging in to your meals - even if it’s just for 10 minutes it’s important to catch your breath and focus on the meal instead! Hey, you may even be able to enjoy the taste and this will give your stomach room to operate properly.
- Remember to chew your food properly rather than bolt it down.
- At the very least don’t drink with you meals. This means you’ll only risk weakening your digestive enzymes, so leave drinks half an hour apart from your meals. Also consider what you’re drinking as fuelling up on caffeine won’t do your stomach an favours.
- Especially if you are busy don’t overeat, save bigger meals for when you are more relaxed. Stress and meals don’t mix and this can often contribute to discomfort and bloating.
If you experience some discomfort after a meal try taking a dose of Digestisan to help calm your symptoms.
