What to eat before a 5K or 10KI would not recommend that you do any exercise so soon after your injury. It usually takes a couple of weeks for a sprained ankle to feel better and, if you exercise whilst the injury is still healing, it risks causing further damage.
After two weeks you may try gentle exercises such as walking or swimming. Continue these for the next 8 weeks and, if the area then feels ok, you can go back to your regular exercise routine.
You may find it helpful to apply a little Arnica Gel to the area whilst it heals. This is very soothing and has anti-inflammatory properties too.
