In cases of tendonitis it is generally recommended that we rest for up to 2-3 days after the injury has occurred to avoid causing further, possibly permanent, damage to the area. You should keep the area raised at this time and apply some ice every 2-3 hours for 20 minutes or so.
Once this period has passed and you feel ready to exercise, consult a physiotherapist about what exercises are best. They will be able to recommend movements to suit your specific injury
