Hi there, I am sorry to hear about this issue. It sounds like you are taking the right steps to try and manage it by sleeping on your back and keeping up regular exercise. I will say, however, that press-ups and squats are quite intense forms of exercise that do put a lot of pressure on the back so these aren't necessarily the best options for you.
I would recommend keeping up your regular walks, though be sure to keep to a fast pace in order to get your heart pumping! You could even add in a couple of longer walks, say twice a week, to get moving more.
If you can get to a leisure center, swimming is really good for back pain. The water supports the body so there's no pressure on the muscles and joints.
If you are looking for activities you can do at home, I would recommend checking out our YouTube page which contains all our exercise videos. Consider stretches like the 'spiderman stretch' and lunges, or jumping jacks if you want to get your heart beat up.
