Recently, I have been loving raw, unsalted pistachios and wanted to incorporate them into a recipe which is easy to make, and can be enjoyed for breakfast or as a low sugar snack. Rich in protein and fibre, pistachios and oats combine together perfectly to create a yummy, healthy, energising treat.
Pure oats are naturally gluten free. However, they are often contaminated with wheat. If you are sensitive to gluten it is best to check that the oats you are buying are certified as ‘pure’ or ‘gluten free’.
1. Pre-heat your oven to 180odegrees, gas mark 4.
2. Place all of the ingredients into a large mixing bowl, and mix together thoroughly with a wooden spoon until fully combined.
3. Line a baking tray with grease proof paper and press down until flattened.
4. Bake for 20 minutes, and leave to cool on a wire rack until ready to slice into bars.
