Depending on what you choose to have for breakfast, this could have an impact on your energy levels later in the morning. Unfortunately, many popular breakfast choices including toast or breakfast cereals include sources of refined carbohydrates.
Whilst refined carbs quickly cause an increase in your blood sugar levels, this is soon followed by a crash which can also see your energy levels plummet. Instead, ideally, we want our breakfast to include a good balance of complex carbohydrates such as wholemeal bread or other wholegrain options including oats or millet. Next, up the protein content with options like eggs, fish, nuts or seeds and include health fats too including nut butters, ground seeds, olive oil, oily fish, or avocado.
If, despite your best efforts you still feel a little sluggish mid-morning, don't be tempted to load up on caffeine to get you through. Instead, a fresh fruit and vegetable smoothie may be a better option and adding a sachet of our Balance Mineral Drink could also help to give you an extra boost, by helping to support vital energy processes in your body.
