Having produced organic fruit and vegetable juices since 1957, it’s safe to say that Biotta have mastered the art of juicing. They have an impressive variety of juices on offer, all of which are delicious, nutritious, and have their own array of unique health benefits.
First founded in 1931 by the renowned organic pioneer Dr. Hugo Brandenberger, Biotta turned the concept of ‘from field to fridge’ into a reality.
Specialising in producing superior quality, organic fruit and vegetable juices, Biotta launched their very first juices onto the market in 1957. Their Carrot Juice was one of the original varieties, which is still one of the most popular varieties to this day.
Biotta is proud to have successfully put reliable and certified organic farming practices to good use and uses up to 1,700 acres of chemical free farm-land to keep up with the demand for their juices.
When it comes to farming and harvesting the fruit and vegetables for their products, their concept is simple – capture the maximum goodness from the produce (by farming locally and using quick and simple techniques) and of course using natural methods along the way.
The three key steps in the production of Biotta’s juices are as follows:
1. After being field or vine ripened, the fruit and vegetables are inspected, washed and then place in a closed manufacturing process, this means the contents have no exposure to oxygen and are therefore not at risk of oxidation. The contents of each bottle of Biotta will next make contact with air with a happy customer opens their recently purchased bottle!
2. Next, Biotta have a particular decanting process in order to extract all of that wonderful juice from the fruit and vegetables themselves. A special centrifuge gently teases the juice out, separating it from the solid veggie mush. No harsh processes are used to help prevent the loss of nutrients.
3. Last, but certainly not least, is another important step – pasteurisation. Unlike other products that are pasteurised, such as dairy products, Biotta pasteurise their juices at a much lower temperature. No ingredients are added and the vegetables are able to naturally lacto-ferment. This means naturally occurring lactic acid bacteria found in fresh fruit and veg are able to produce L+ lactic acid which helps fend off any bad bacteria. This helps to keep the juices stable, and is a beneficial, gut friendly component from which consumers can also benefit!
A quality control system oversees the whole process (only but the best for our customers) and within a matter of days, the juices are decanted into bottles ready for shipping – from field to fridge!
Pressing the juice from the very best, organic fruit and vegetables allows us to capture a concentrated, yet tasty, elixir of plant source vitamins and minerals. These juices are not made from concentrate, and each step of the process ensures that the maximum amount of nutrients is retained.
Each variety of juice has been expertly blended and has an array of unique health benefits to offer as a result of the careful assembly of ingredients. Generally just 100ml per day of these nutritious blends are recommended as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle.
