My New Year's resolutions

A belated Happy New Year from me and like most of the country I have already failed in my New Year’s resolution! What was it? Well I had hoped to have at least 3 blogs written by this time but I have been so busy answering all the menopause emails that came in during the holidays and live-chatting since getting back to work that I have hardly had time to breathe let alone write!

Last year at A.Vogel Talks Menopause

We have been really amazed and pleased by how popular our menopause web pages have become over this past year and the numbers of visitors is still climbing each month. Although more visitors is wonderful it still highlights just how little information on the menopause women get access to out there in the big, wide world.

We are working really hard at keeping our information up to date and also adding new research or new symptoms to our pages. What has surprised us is the number of different symptoms that women are experiencing. Ones that we originally though to be uncommon are not so, and I have the interesting job of trying to find good, reliable information on these, which is not always easy!

The Top 10 questions

I have kept a note of all the questions I have been asked over the year and have put together the Top 10. My aim over the next few weeks is to write a short article on each one just to highlight the symptom and also give simple advice on how you can help yourself at a glance.

The Top 10

  1. Am I in the menopause?
  2. Hot Flushes
  3. Periods in the peri-menopause and menopause
  4. Low Mood
  5. Breast problems such as sore/tender breasts
  6. Vaginal problems such as dryness, irritation etc
  7. HRT related questions
  8. The menopause and hysterectomy
  9. Skin problems such as itchiness
  10. Joint pain

Some new symptoms seem to have made it into the charts and are creeping ever upwards, so I will be writing about these too!

  1. Pregnancy in the menopause
  2. Dizziness
  3. Nausea
  4. Bloating
  5. Headaches

We are always interested to hear of other symptoms experienced during the menopause so if you are suffering with one not on the list and would like to know more why not make a comment below as there may be others wondering the same as you!

Did you know?

You won’t get the menopause the minute you turn 50! The average starting age is actually between 45 and 55 and it can often depend on a number of factors including hereditary, weight and health, however every single woman will have an individual menopause.
